People looking for work experience
Getting back into the swing of employment can be a life changing activity. For your business, an extra set of hands is always useful and new ideas and perspectives are often an unexpected bonus.
Right now, there are tens of thousands of people in Wales actively seeking work. We work with a number of them in our local communities . In what is a tough jobs market, one of the keys to help us help them is by getting into the rhythm and routine of being back to work.
Once an unemployed person gets back into the workplace, a number of fantastic things can happen;
- Confidence can be boosted almost immediately
- Skills develop quickly
- Personalities grow
- People feel valued and start to deliver that value back
If you have every tried finding a job, you'll know that one of the first things that comes up at the interview stage is recent employment. For some people, having a gap in that part of the application can be a frustrating hindrance to securing employment.
How your business can benefit
At any one time, we work with a good number of people in different stages of their careers and job search journeys. One of the most important things is having employers that can offer work experience.
It's not all just give give give. Work experience and voluntary work is a two way street. Our candidates are actively looking to get back to contributing. It's a wonderful feeling completing a good honest days work and a little activity, a career interest nurtured, can re-invigorate a career and get people back on track with their lives.
As a business or an employer, offering work experience and voluntary placements, regardless of duration (our work experience placements range from a few days to a few months), can provide a boost to you too.
Here are some of the benefits of offering voluntary work placements;
- Great way of getting extra hands to contribute towards a project or initiative
- Get to know staff before any interview
- Reduce recruitment costs, lots of the candidates are available permanently
- Help your existing staff with experience in coaching & mentoring
- Excellent contribution to the communities you serve
